Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about the Hackathon? We've got answers.

What if I don't have a team?

That’s no problem, this is no different to an in-person Hack. When signing up, just select ‘I am looking for a team’ and let us know from the drop down menu which aspect of the Hack you are most looking interested in and we will assign teams accordingly.

Do I need to attend for the full day?

No, we appreciate everyone is busy. Once you have your teams, you are welcome to stay for some of the Hack or none of it. The presentations will take place on Friday 24th July at 9am BST. Just be ready to share your project then. If you would rather not present, you can simply share your application and we will judge from that.

I don’t know much about Atlas App Services, can I still join?

Yes, we have a lunch and learn webinar on Monday 20th July which is exclusive for everyone who has registered. We also have a resource page on this website with videos from MongoDB.live and plenty of other material to get you started.

Will there be support on the day?

Yes, on the day there will be Atlas App Services engineers and Developer Advocates on hand, ready for 1:1 support. Each team will be assigned their own breakout room, you can add a Realm expert to your room or come back into the main sessions to ask for help.

Will there be networking and food, like an in-person Hack?

Yes. Join the Realm Hackathon Developer Community to meet like minded developers, we have over 10k members! We have a dedicated page for this event, where you can meet attendees. If you haven’t heard about the Rubik's Cube challenge, you can find out more here. If you complete the challenge & post with the hashtag, you will win food vouchers!
