Analyzes how well one candidate shard key would distribute one collection across the shards of the specified cluster. This endpoint accepts the request and returns immediately: the Location header carries the URI of the operation that tracks the analysis. Poll that operation until its status is terminal, then follow its resultHref to read the analysis. MongoDB Cloud validates and authorizes the request before accepting it, so a rejected submission returns a 4xx status and never an operation in a failed state. A namespace that is well formed but absent cannot be detected before the analysis runs and surfaces as a failed operation.

Path parameters
-
Unique 24-hexadecimal digit string that identifies your project. Use the /groups endpoint to retrieve all projects to which the authenticated user has access.
NOTE: Groups and projects are synonymous terms. Your group id is the same as your project id. For existing groups, your group/project id remains the same. The resource and corresponding endpoints use the term groups.
Format should match the following pattern:
^([a-f0-9]{24})$. -
Human-readable label that identifies the cluster that contains the collection to analyze.
Format should match the following pattern:
^[a-zA-Z0-9][a-zA-Z0-9-]*$.
Query parameters
-
Flag that indicates whether Application wraps the response in an
envelopeJSON object. Some API clients cannot access the HTTP response headers or status code. To remediate this, set envelope=true in the query. Endpoints that return a list of results use the results object as an envelope. Application adds the status parameter to the response body.Default value is
false. -
Flag that indicates whether the response body should be in the prettyprint format.
Default value is
false.Prettyprint
Body
Required
Shard key to analyze, and which metrics to compute for it.
-
Flag that indicates whether to return the cardinality, frequency and monotonicity of the candidate shard key.
Default value is
true. -
Flag that indicates whether to return how reads and writes would be routed across shards under the candidate shard key. This requires query sampling to have collected operations for the namespace.
Default value is
false. -
Combination of the database and collection to analyze, written as
<database>.<collection>. -
Candidate shard key, given as one object per shard key field in the order the fields form the key. Field order is significant:
[{"a": "1"}, {"b": "1"}]and[{"b": "1"}, {"a": "1"}]are different shard keys. At most one field may behashed.Not more than
32elements.
