Build, scale, and succeed with MongoDB for Startups

At a minimum, to qualify for our base tier, we look for startups that are:

• Early-stage: Less than 7 years old and Series A or earlier
• Building a scalable product: Focused on a single software-based product or service (note: development shops and agencies are not eligible)
• New participants: Not previously accepted into the MongoDB for Startups program
• Established online: Have an active company website and LinkedIn profile

We work closely with VCs, accelerators, and incubators. Please ask your VC or accelerator partner to refer you. If your VC or accelerator partner is not part of the MongoDB for Startups program, please ask them to apply.

Absolutely. You do not have to be new to MongoDB to be eligible for our program. We accept both new and existing MongoDB Atlas users.

If you haven't heard back from us after five business days please contact us.

Once you are accepted into the program, you will receive a unique promo code in your welcome email.

To activate your promo code, go to account.mongodb.com and follow these simple steps for the organization you wish to apply the code to:

1. Log in or create an account
2. Navigate to Billing
3. Click the Apply Code button
4. Enter your Activation Code
5. Click Submit

Please note you must be an Organization Owner or Organization Billing Admin to activate your subscription. To change your organization role, contact your organization’s IT administrator.

Startups have 12 months to activate their promo code.

Once activated, startups have 12 months to use your Atlas credits.

You can check your current credit balance anytime by logging in to account.mongodb.com

• Go to Billing in the top navigation bar.
• Scroll down to Available Credits to view your balance.

To view the expiration date of your credits, please follow the instructions below:

1. Visit account.mongodb.com
2. Log in to your existing account
3. Navigate to the top navigation bar and click “Billing”
4. Scroll to the bottom to the “Available Credits” section
5. Under the “Active Dates” column, there will be gray text that states “(EXPIRES MM/DD/YY)”

What if my credits are expiring or have expired? If you are not able to exhaust your credits in 12 months, you can request an extension (considered on a case-by-case basis). If possible, please contact us when you have three months remaining.

If you haven’t used all your credits within 12 months, you can request an extension. We review extensions on a case-by-case basis. Just note that promo codes can only be applied to future charges, not past usage.
