What is MongoDB?
MongoDB is a document database designed for ease of application development and scaling.
You can run MongoDB in the following environments:
MongoDB Atlas : The fully managed service for MongoDB deployments in the cloud
MongoDB Enterprise : The subscription-based, self-managed version of MongoDB
MongoDB Community : The source-available, free-to-use, and self-managed version of MongoDB

MongoDB 7.1 Release Candidates
MongoDB 7.1 binaries are currently available only as release candidates. Release candidates can be used for early testing of new features, but are not suitable for production deployments.
This version of the manual is for an upcoming release and is currently a work in progress.
Important
MongoDB 7.1 is a rapid release and is only supported for MongoDB Atlas. MongoDB 7.1 is not supported for use on-premises. For more information, see MongoDB Versioning.
