INTRODUCTION
A growing number of organizations are building digital infrastructure and digitizing talent to drive technological innovation from within. According to IDC (Source: IDC, Worldwide Low-Code, No-Code, and Intelligent Developer Technologies Forecast, 2024–2028 ), the low-code/no-code software market is expected to grow exceptionally from 2023 to 2028, with a CAGR of 37.6%.
Jodoo is an innovative low-code/ no-code development platform that enables organizations without tech-skilled employees to create customized management applications. Using intuitive tools such as templates, clicks, and drag-and-drop, Jodoo helps quickly turn managerial ideas into functional apps. This actively promotes citizen development across enterprises to strengthen digital innovation. Through tailor-made training programs, Jodoo has empowered over 300 medium and large enterprises to train nearly 15,000 skilled digital professionals.
THEIR CHALLENGE
Citizen Development on the rise as data complexity increases
As digital transformation accelerates, enterprises are turning away from traditional IT development. Instead, they are turning toward citizen development, which enables non-technical users to create applications. The challenge is now to leverage the agility of low-code/no-code platforms to improve operational efficiencies and drive business growth.
To meet rising demand for scalable and customized enterprise applications, platforms must seamlessly integrate with internal and external systems using open APIs.
However, rapid market growth also brings technical challenges. “There are still many unexplored areas in the low-code/no-code space,” said Weiyi Jin, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at Jodoo.
At the heart of Jodoo’s mission is the simplification of data complexity. To succeed, the company must excel in data processing, and it faces three core challenges:
- Massive data volumes and tables: Over one million new records are generated monthly, exceeding the limits of traditional databases.
- Highly dynamic user-defined fields: With thousands of fields changing frequently, traditional schema definitions are impractical. All DDL operations must be handled in real time.
- Intense market competition: To stand out, Jodoo must continuously innovate and optimize its products.
OUR SOLUTION
MongoDB streamlines data management so Jodoo can simplify development
To tackle these challenges, Jodoo turned to MongoDB Atlas for its flexibility and seamless integration across modern applications. Together, Jodoo and MongoDB deliver a more efficient, intuitive platform for enterprise application development:
Managing massive data volumes and tables
Jodoo utilises MongoDB’s sharded cluster architecture, enabling elastic, low-latency scaling. For example, a food processing company employed Jodoo’s industry-specific inventory template to manage warehouse entries and exits, inventory alerts, and financial calculations. Jodoo users were able to effortlessly add new modules and scale data without worrying about storage limits due to MongoDB’s presence.
Intuitive, user-defined fields
MongoDB’s flexible data model helps Jodoo tackle real-time data processing challenges. With MongoDB’s flexible schema, users can freely add, delete, or modify fields.
Real-time user analysis
Through integration with Apache Flink, MongoDB enables real-time analysis of user behavior and effective monitoring of system performance and stress metrics.
Both capabilities proved critical for an automotive enterprise that built a digital factory application using Jodoo. Their application comprised seven modules including basic information tables, task management, supplier management, manufacturing processes, new product development, after-sales service, and human resources management. All daily operations were hosted on Jodoo, eliminating the need f for offline cloud disks and other group workflows.
More importantly, the system enabled real-time task statistics, multidimensional analysis, alerts, and exception notifications. This effectively prevented task omissions, streamlined processes, accelerated task flow, and shifted task management from human-driven to digital-driven. These improvements significantly enhanced operational efficiency.
Without the real-time data processing capabilities of MongoDB, the usability and sustainability of these digital platforms would be significantly compromised.
Staying ahead in a competitive market
MongoDB’s collaborative ecosystem helps Jodoo address innovation challenges. Powered by MongoDB’s embedded documents and rich query syntax, Jodoo’s sub-forms are simple, user-friendly, and intuitive. Using MongoDB’s aggregation framework, Jodoo simplifies traditional analysis with features like grouping, aggregation, sorting, and subtotaling.
Additionally, MongoDB’s Change Streams enable Jodoo to integrate with external data lakes, allowing silent, seamless data flow and ensuring a smooth user experience. The rapid connectivity and agile iteration offered by MongoDB also empower Jodoo to stay at the forefront of the industry, achieving mutual growth and long-term success.
