MongoDB Atlas is deeply integrated into the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, available directly in the Azure Portal, discoverable alongside first-party Azure database services, and fully manageable without leaving your existing Azure environment.
What that means for you:
- Seamless provisioning: Azure Subscription Owners and Contributors can search for MongoDB Atlas, create an Atlas Organization, and spin up projects and clusters directly from the Azure Portal—no separate sign-up or context switching required.
- Unified billing: All usage flows through the Azure Marketplace on a pay-as-you-go contract, appears on your existing Azure invoice, and is MACC eligible.
- Enterprise-grade standards: The Azure Resource Provider is hosted and operated on Azure, inheriting Azure's standards for availability, reliability, security, and compliance.
What's new as of July 2026:
- Org, Project, and Cluster creation is now fully self-service from the Azure Portal
- Org creation is now available in eight regions
Already running Atlas on Azure? Additional business units can now self-serve Atlas through the portal. Those orgs can be linked back to your existing Atlas agreement via cross-org billing, keeping spend consolidated under your central contract.
