What is MongoDB Relational Migrator?
MongoDB Relational Migrator is a tool that helps to migrate workloads from legacy databases to MongoDB. It allows a user to analyze their relational database schemas, make decisions on how the relational schema should be represented as a MongoDB schema, and migrate the data from the relational database to MongoDB.
How can I use Relational Migrator?
Relational Migrator is designed to be used with assistance from our Field Engineering teams to help our customers move their production workloads to MongoDB. To learn more or ask for help in migrating to MongoDB, get in touch.
What’s the difference between Relational Migrator and Cluster-to-Cluster Sync?

Relational Migrator moves data from a relational database to MongoDB. It also helps in the planning phase of such a migration by analyzing a relational schema and assisting in mapping that to a MongoDB schema.

In contrast, Cluster-to-Cluster Sync syncs data from one MongoDB cluster to another MongoDB cluster.

What databases does Relational Migrator support?

Migrator supports migration from Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases. Testing is done against all versions of these databases still supported by their vendors. Migrator may or may not work with earlier (unsupported) versions of these databases.

What data migration methods are available with Relational Migrator?
Relational Migrator will support two modes. Snapshot (one-time) sync will migrate all data in the relational database at the time the sync job starts, and the job will complete. Continuous sync will perform an initial snapshot sync then continue to run, pushing all changes from the source RDBMS into MongoDB.
