Update Legacy Agents to the MongoDB Agent

The MongoDB Agent replaces the legacy Monitoring, Backup, and Automation Agents with a single unified agent. The procedure you follow depends on which legacy Agents your hosts run and whether Automation manages them.

Choose the scenario that matches your project:

Scenario
When to Use

Your project has automated MongoDB deployments that use Monitoring, Backup, or both.

Your project has monitored MongoDB deployments that Automation doesn't manage.

Your project has monitored and backed up MongoDB deployments that Automation doesn't manage.

Your project has automated MongoDB deployments that include both Automation-managed and standalone Backup and Monitoring Agents.

Each scenario lists the prerequisites to review before you start and the steps to complete after the update finishes.
