MMS Release Notes: New monitoring and backup Agents, an API, more alerts

MongoDB

#Cloud

There’s lots to be happy about this week on the MMS team. This is perhaps one of our largest releases ever, and we have tons of goodies to talk about. Such as:

  • 2 Factor Authentication for everyone, with a voice call option
  • A shiny new API
  • A slew of new alerts, including: Missing primary in a replica set Number of healthy members in a replica set User alerts (joined or left group, role changes) Monitoring Agent is out of date Replication lag on delayed secondaries
  • New administration page showing recently sent emails
  • Updated host page now shows Toku builds
  • The monitoring and backup agents also received some love -

  • Monitoring Agent (version 2.2.0.70-1) has improved logging for MongoDB 2.6 config servers when connecting with a user in the built-in clusterMonitor role;
  • Backup Agent (version 2.0.0.90-1) includes optional support for running multiple primary backup agents as well as creates a new session on failure to insert the periodic oplog token. This is a bug fix for customers who have an environment set up on an unstable network.
  • Our automation beta is also continuing with select customers. We’ve gotten great feedback already, and are really looking forward to the official debut at MongoDB World on June 23rd. You can read more about that (and sign up to receive private preview!) here.
