What would be very helpful in order to help you is to have the error message you get.
The exact command line you are using and the configuration file would also be beneficial.
The words it does not work is far from enough to make a diagnostic.

For some reason, someone or some process is sending SIGTERM:
Then mongod terminates as it should when receiving SIGTERM.
What does systemctl status mongod give you?
Did you had another version running before?

Are you running with SELinux enabled? If it is the case, try to disable it temporarily to see if it makes a difference. There is almost no time delay between the start and the signal. So either systemd itself or another automated process is sending the signal.

mongod.service must be a text file.

Service files are usually located in /lib/systemd/system.
You may also see the content with systemctl cat mongod.
