Last week, we announced a new, intelligent query generation experience in MongoDB Compass. With the help of AI, you can generate queries and aggregations from natural language. This feature is now available in public preview.
Please be sure to download the latest version of Compass to try it out. If you have any feedback, we’d love to hear it! Let us know what you think by posting in our feedback portal.
You can learn more about this feature by reading our docs. To also learn about the other intelligent experiences for MongoDB announced last week, check out our blog.
Hello! I successfully installed and utilized this feature on Windows. However, to my surprise, after downloading the 64-bit version for Mac, the option (feature preview) doesn’t appear in the settings menu.
P.S.: I’m currently using Compass 1.40.4. Could you please assist me with this issue?
Hi @ricardohsmello - thanks for posting here. I can’t reproduce this. Would you mind sharing a screenshot of what you see? (Feel free to message me privately if you’d prefer). Also, do you see “Generate Query” in the query bar?
Thank you, this is helpful! Two things may be happening:
You may have started Compass without an internet connection. If you restart Compass connected to internet, we would expect it to show up (now and in the future, regardless of internet connection).
It’s possible you have deselected “Enable AI Features.” You can check this under the “Privacy” tabs on the “Settings” screen.
Please let me know if either of those points help.
Hello, I apologize for the delay. I attempted both solutions, but unfortunately, I couldn’t establish a connection. I suspect one potential reason might be that I’m using a VPN within the company where I work. I attempted to resolve the issue by disconnecting and redownloading using the internet but encountered the same problem.
Compass is local to my cloud environment.
I am having a problem that when I select the Generate Query option in Compass the modal window instructs me to “Login to Atlas to enable” which then errors with the following code:-
"
Sign in failed
listen EADDRNOTAVAIL: address not available fe80::1:27097
"
I have allowed the port in my local configuration. Actually, I am lost with this.
