MongoDB Appoints Veteran Finance Executive Hope Cochran to its Board of Directors
Company expands roster of independent board members
**NEW YORK, NY and PALO ALTO, CA – December 12, 2016 – ** MongoDB, the database for giant ideas, today announced it has appointed Hope Cochran to the company’s Board of Directors. Cochran is a seasoned executive with more than 20 years of financial and operating experience in the technology and telecom sectors, most recently serving as CFO of gaming company King Digital, where she helped lead the company’s IPO and subsequent acquisition by Activision.
Cochran is the third independent member added to MongoDB’s board over the last year. Previously, the company appointed Tom Killalea, a former technology executive at Amazon, and John McMahon, a former sales executive who led sales at five different public software companies, to the board.
In 2013, Cochran was selected as one of FORTUNE’s 10 Most Powerful Women in Gaming and has a wealth of experience as a financial expert with audit committees at both public and private companies. Additionally, she has held several roles in the software industry, including at Red Pepper Software Solutions and SkillsVillage, a company she founded. Both companies were acquired by PeopleSoft. Later, Cochran served as the CFO at Clearwire Corporation, a telecommunications operator. She currently serves on Hasbro’s board of directors.
“Hope’s strong financial and operating expertise as a leader in a variety of technology businesses, as well as her extensive audit and governance experience, will be an enormous asset to MongoDB,” said Dev Ittycheria, president & CEO of MongoDB. “We are incredibly excited to have Hope join the board, and look forward to working with her as we scale the business globally.”
“As software developers drive the technology agenda, MongoDB is uniquely positioned -- by virtue of its incredibly strong team, technically superior products, and transformative impact on thousands of customers around the world -- to take advantage of a massive market opportunity,” said Cochran. “I’m thrilled to join the board of MongoDB and help the company disrupt a very large market.”
