10gen is pleased to announce the first MongoDB developer blog contest of 2011. We’ll be announcing the contest categories at the beginning of each month, and the 10gen engineering team will pick the winner. We hope that these contests will be a way for developers to share their experiences with MongoDB and learn from one another. And we are giving away some pretty cool prizes :-) This month we’re teaming up with (mt) Media Temple, who is offering free hosting to the winner.
For our March contest, write a detailed blog post on your personal or company blog about rapid application development. How did using MongoDB enable you to build your app faster than you expected? What steps or code development did this accelerate? Write your answer for a technical audience, because 10gen engineers will be picking the winner. Entries will be judged based on how clearly you explained your issues and how you avoided or solved them by using MongoDB instead of another solution.
Once complete, submit a link to your blog post in the comments section of this post by the end of the month. We’ll announce the winner in early April, who will receive the cool prizes listed below. Everyone who enters will receive a MongoDB coffee mug.
March contest prizes
- Hosting for one year on the (ve) server from (mt) Media Temple, the perfect environment to dev and launch your app
- MongoDB Timbuk2 backpack
- Free entry for you and two friends to the MongoDB conference of your choice
- Entry into the MongoDB App of the Year Contest
- Your blog tweeted out to the over 10,000 followers of @mongodb and @10gen
MongoDB App of the Year
At the end of the year, we’ll pick the best entry from all the monthly contest entries to win the App of the Year. The App of the Year winner will win either a MacBookPro or an all-expenses paid trip to New York City or San Francisco for one of our MongoDB conferences.
Special thanks to this month’s co-sponsor, (mt) Media Temple, for donating this month’s prize!
