Yum repo access denied?

I run MongoDB 4.2 on Centos and since a few weeks the yum update of MongoDB fails with the following error:

https://repo.mongodb.org/yum/redhat/7/mongodb-org/4.2/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] curl#22 - "The requested URL returned error: 403"

I can access the same URL manually via curl on the same server or via a browser. Why does yum can’t access the URL anymore? Thanks in advance!

Cheers, Ben

Hi @Ben_B welcome to the community!

Since apparently access to the URL is possible from the machine, it’s likely something on the yum side of things.

I found this question on StackOverflow, where the same issue was raised. Do you mind trying the solution posted there?

I also found other resources that mention some firewall misconfiguration, disabling selinux, and other potential solutions. However there are no firm answer on why yum cannot seem to access some URL. Maybe you can try asking in CentOS specific forums if none of the solutions above solves it?

Best regards
