What is the official recommendation regarding usage of sharded cluster balancer in production environment?

  • Balancer may be used without any risk of performance degradation
  • Balancer usage should be resticted via activeWindow to non-business timeframes
  • Balancer shouldn’t be used at all
    Pls advise which option is most suitable for production environments. Thanks

  • Balancer usage should be resticted via activeWindow to non-business timeframes
    and if you are adding/replacing machine to existing cluster , the balance should be disabled for performance
