What is a command in MongoDB Atlas Metrics?

Is there any official Atlas or MongoDB documentation material on what exactly a “command” is?
When I visit a cluster shard’s metrics page, there are several “opcounters”. [1]

The command metric is usually very high for our cluster.
Does someone know which operations are covered by the “command” metric?
I guess aggregations are part of it, but I did not find any documentation on this yet.

I think you have a list of all the MongoDB commands here and I think each of them counts in the monitoring as a “command”.
Just like they count in mongostat I presume.
