What does the red line mean in the mongo atltas status graphs?

we had a sudden spike in our db that caused performance issues. looking to investigate and i see a red vertical line on our graphs about an hour before the spikes began.

this is in the status tab of the databases for our cluster in mongo atlas

A red vertical bar indicates a server restart as shown on the screenshot below:

You can find this information and further details about each metric chart by selecting the ‘i’ information logo on a specific chart. Please see the example below highlighted in the green box:
