Upgrade from 4.4 to 5 on Debian 10

Hello,

I’ve just completed an upgrade from 4.2 to 4.4 and it worked smoothly.
Now, I wanted to upgrade to 5 and then I read

but didn’t find any further instructions.

So do I have to simply go back to the 4.4 docs and do steps 1 & 2 of the uninstallation process:

and then install 5 and 5 will simply pick all my files and everything will run?

Thanks,
Chris

I’ve been impatient and went ahead.
Indeed, it works as described.

Uninstall 4.4 with the first 2 steps only.
Install 5.

I had to change the owner of my socket file:

chown mongodb:mongodb /tmp/mongodb*

And the server is up and running on v5.
