Challenge successfully completed! :fire: :green_heart:
Here is the result of my participation: result.

The challenge gave me extra motivation to enhance my knowledge during this last month of 2025. I deepened my understanding of the essential concepts of MongoDB CRUD methods, best practices for data modeling and manipulation, and especially the Aggregation Framework — its stages, applications, and how to use it to efficiently transform, filter, and analyze data.

I learned a lot about identifying and optimizing slow queries in the MongoDB Query Optimization Techniques badge. As well as the importance of having indexed queries and creating good indexes in the MongoDB Indexing Design Fundamentals badge.

I learn about sharding strategies, first time to hear about this concept and how to improve my aggregation queries to better PROD performance.

Let’s do it! Get deeper in my fundamentals in sharding and indexing. It’s great to revise the fundamentals of sharding and get deeper in the internals of it. For indices, these are mostly basics, but I revise and reinforced my knowledge through reading through MongoDB docs.

I earned two MongoDB Skill Badges and gained valuable hands-on experience. Through the challenge, I learned how vector search works and how to apply Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to build smarter, context-aware applications.

It was a great opportunity to deepen my understanding and apply these concepts in practical scenarios. Excited to keep building and learning more with MongoDB!

This challenge was an incredible learning experience. I went from knowing very little about MongoDB to gaining hands-on experience with features I use in my daily work. It’s amazing how much you can grow in just two weeks when you commit to focused learning!

It was a great challenge! I spent the end of the year in a really meaningful way.

  1. Building RAG Apps Using MongoDB
  2. Building AI-Powered Search with MongoDB Vector Search

Through this challenge, I learned about embeddings and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) with MongoDB, which sparked a strong interest in NoSQL databases.
MongoDB University provides a well-structured combination of theory and hands-on labs, making it an excellent environment for learning MongoDB and NoSQL concepts.

Challenge completed

I learnt about various patterns and anti-patterns that can arise during the development of a project. Among them, it was new to me to see so many situations that could arise from poor schema design. Even when the schema is perfectly defined, it could change due to changes in project requirements. It was very fun and interesting to learn all this. Thank you for promoting these kinds of challenges; they motivate me to learn new things.
