Continuing the discussion from Can't launch mongo shell (In macOS 10.15 Catalina):
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Security & Privacy 
, then click General.
Unlock and allow Mongo/Mongod anyway. restart terminal and Bob’s your uncle.
