Serious Concerns Over Data API Deprecation for Paid Customers

I am writing to express our frustration and concern regarding the sudden deprecation of the MongoDB Data API. As a paid customer spending a five-figure amount annually on MongoDB services, we find it unacceptable that such a critical feature has been deprecated without proper consideration for the impact on your paying customers.

We have invested years of effort into adopting services like the Data API, and to have it suddenly removed without a proper analysis of the effect on corporate customers is extremely concerning. Has MongoDB considered the significant financial burden and operational challenges this will create for companies like ours? You are essentially asking us to invest another six-figure sum to migrate to a new solution. Have you considered the losses and disruptions this decision will cause to your customers?

There are two approaches we believe MongoDB should seriously consider:

  1. Continue supporting the Data API for all paying customers.
  2. Open-source the Data API so that customers can deploy and manage it on-premises with minimal impact to existing integrations.

As a Pro support customer, we expect a reasonable solution to this situation. MongoDB’s corporate clients need long-term stability and continuity in the services they rely on, and this abrupt deprecation does not reflect that.

We expect to hear back from you soon with options to mitigate the impact of this decision.

Hi Dinesh,

I understand your concerns over this deprecation, and will bring this feedback to our team.

In the meantime, I recommend that you reach out to the support team, as suggested in this post to see if you can get an extension.
