In assert_index_used failing on MongoDB 7 · Issue #35 · jaraco/jaraco.mongodb · GitHub, I reported an issue where the structure of the query plan has changed and it’s caused breakage. Perhaps that too could be listed in the backward-incompatible changes to MongoDB.
