Tell us about your journey to becoming a MongoDB User Group leader.
We started MongoDB Hyderabad to bring developers together, learn from each other, and explore ideas in a fun, collaborative way. From our first small meetup to a thriving community of 1300+ members, the journey has been incredible. Organizing events and keeping everyone engaged had challenges, but seeing the community grow makes every effort worthwhile.
What has been your most rewarding moment as a MUG leader?
The best part is seeing members succeed, sharing projects, learning together, and supporting each other. Many are now excited to give talks, and a few have already become speakers. Their enthusiasm during meetups reminds us why we do this and makes every effort worthwhile.
What’s your favorite thing about being part of the MongoDB Community?
The people! Everyone is so willing to share knowledge, mentor, and collaborate. Being part of a global, supportive network inspires us to grow MongoDB Hyderabad and help others succeed.
Do you have any tips for developers looking to build a community?
Raj and Jayant share their top advice: Lead with passion and a genuine desire to help. Be consistent, create opportunities for members to contribute, celebrate wins, and listen to the community. Small acts of engagement go a long way in building a strong, lasting community.
