Oplog Resize activity

Hi Team,

When MongoDB oplog size will be increase Prod servers.
Would you explain briefly whatever symptoms will we consider in Production server as well as DEV servers ?

Hello @hari_dba
Welcome to the Community!!

Having a larger oplog will surely have more operations in it, but the catch is you will have to compromise with the volume of disc space being used.
A larger oplog will store more history and may be required for some use cases. For example: Workloads that Might Require a Larger Oplog Size.

Please refer to the documentation : Oplog Size also you can refer to another forum question here: What is the impact of different oplog sizes? - #2 by Doug_Duncan

It would be recommended to use similar kind of environments for production environment and for the DEV, similar with lesser resources would be recommended.

Please do let us know if that answers your question or you would need any further information.

Thanks
