Hello,
I manage a software application that uses MongoDB in its back-end. I thus don’t interact with the DB itself, other than starting and stopping it. I need to install this application’s MongoDB on a new server.
The server has 4 3.6 GHz cores, 250+GB of RAM and 1.2 TB of storage and will be dedicated to the database. There will be no other heavy use.
I have a choice of configuring the server as either RedHat or Windows Server 2016 OS. The latter is much easier, but the former (RedHat Linux) is quite doable.
I saw old posts on the Web that WIndows OS is not as suitable as Linux, but I could not find any comparison of Windows Server 2016 vs a modern Linux.
Is there a document or FAQ discussing this issue?
Thank you,
Mirko
