Need Help: Associate Database Administrator Exam - Technical Issue & Scoring Concern

Hi MongoDB Community,

I recently took the Associate Database Administrator certification exam on September 20, 2025, and encountered some concerning issues that I’d appreciate guidance on.

Exam Results:

  • Result: Failed (despite 71% average score)
  • Topic Breakdown:
    • Philosophy & Features: 100%
    • CRUD: 76%
    • Indexes: 83%
    • MongoDB Server Administration: 57%
    • Monitoring: 33%
    • Security: 50%
    • Replication: 67%
    • Backup and Recovery: 100%

Issues Encountered:

1. Technical Problem: Question 52 had two identical answer choices that were both correct. This created confusion during the exam and may have affected scoring.

2. Scoring Concern: My topic scores average to 71%, which seems like it should be a passing score based on industry standards.

3. Question Accuracy: I’m confident I answered at least 55+ questions correctly.

Questions for the Community:

  1. Has anyone experienced similar technical issues during MongoDB certification exams?
  2. What is the typical passing score expectation for this certification?
  3. How responsive is the certification team to technical issue reports?
  4. Any advice on the appeal/review process?

I’ve already contacted certification@mongodb.com but wanted to reach out to the community as well for guidance and to see if others have faced similar situations.

Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help.
