MongodbVirtualMemoryUsage for mongodb are higher double in mongodb 8.0.9 compared to mongodb 7.0.15

What steps will reproduce the bug?

  1. Mongodb 7.0.15 with helm chart 15.1.7 and model statefulset is deployed to EKS
  • MongodbVirtualMemoryUsage is ~ 2.5 GB for maximum replica
  1. Mongodb 8.0.9 with helm chart 16.5.11 and model statefulset is deployed to EKS
  • MongodbVirtualMemoryUsage is ~ 5 GB for maximum replica (double that before upgrading)

Additional information: We are using helm chart mongodb 16.5.22 · bitnami/bitnami and architecture=“replicaset” to deploy in EKS.

What is the expected behavior?

MongodbVirtualMemoryUsage should be approximately as before upgrading

What do you see instead?

MongodbVirtualMemoryUsage in version 8.0.9 is more than double compared with version 7.0.15
