MongoDB limits and patterns for database, collection, _id names

Hello Experts,

I am in MongoDB 3.6.10.

I would like to know what are the allowed limits (how small and big) and patterns (alphanumeric or more than that), about the MongoDB database and collection names.

For _id (or type ObjectId) - I think it has to 24 char long. Do we have any other pattern for ObjectId?

Please let me know. I shall make those as best practices for our MongoDB administration.
