MongoDB cluster becomes unavailable after aggregation query

The past two days I’ve been having issues with my cluster giving me “An unexpected error occurred. Please try again in a few minutes.” error, the last one prevented me from connecting to the database for over 24 hours. As soon as I was able to connect again, I ran an aggregation query which caused the issue once again, preventing me from connecting to the database.

I’ve been trying to tweak and optimize my aggregation query since it’s been giving me timeout errors and out of memory errors. It would see that running these queries frequently may have caused it, but otherwise there is no additional information on the exact cause of the error nor how to prevent it from happening again.

I had the same problem, but contacted support for help and it is an issue that is causing delays in all cluster updates across all cloud providers. Since they are investigating the problem I can only assume that it something with website they need to fix.
