i have to replicate MongoDB from AWS to Private cloud for Disaster Recovery solution
This technically can be done as I would imagine this is just a networking level configuration to allow connectivity between replica set members in both environments. However, it is important to note that replication is not meant for Disaster Recovery. Instead, replication provides redundancy and high availability of data.
Depending on your set up, I would take a look at the following back up solutions for a disaster recovery scenario:
You can then choose to manage your backups in multiple locations. e.g. Backups stored on multiple cloud provider services (AWS,GCP,Azure).
In addition to this, you may find the following blog post regarding backups and their role in disaster recovery.
Hope this helps.
