Hi,
I am new in MongoDB.
Installed it as a server in windows 10 following the site instructions.
Everything looks fine in Compass and I create new DB and Collections.
when I run mongod command in cmd as administrator, i cannot get the expected prompt. The message lines freezes on a “Waiting for connection…” line and nothing happens.
How can I fix that issue? Thanks

This is expected behaviour in Windows.You have started mongod in the foreground
You have to leave this session as is
Open another Windows cmd prompt and connect to your mongod
If you have installed mongod as service there is no need to start it from cmd line

So, The tutorial I am watching should be old.
How can I run >show dbs command line?

Open a Windows command prompt and run mongo/mongosh depending on the version you installed
Once you are connected run show dbs
