How to create cluster , ie, replica in onprem (linux platorm)

Hi Team,

We are hosting a mongoDb in onprem(Linux platform). We need to create a replica for the instance.
Please advise steps by steps.

Hello @Kiran_Joshy,

To get started, I recommend utilizing the official documentation for spinning up the replica set:

  1. MongoDB Installation: Begin by installing MongoDB. Detailed instructions can be found here - Install MongoDB Community Edition on Linux.
  2. Setting up a Replica Set: Once MongoDB is installed, follow the documented steps here to create and configure a replica set.

Additionally, for further guidance and insights, you may want to watch the M103 - Basic Cluster Administration video tutorial available on MongoDB University.

These resources will provide you with comprehensive information and guidance to successfully set up your MongoDB Replica Set on a Linux environment. If you have any questions or encounter any issues along the way, feel free to reach out for assistance.

Best regards,
Kushagra
