Hosting an Intro to Backend Workshop Using MongoDB Atlas (Athena Award – Hack Club)

I’m Shivani, a student backend developer and frequent participator in Hackclub - an international community for teens who code!!

As part of the Athena Award event in Hackclub, I’m hosting a workshop focused on introducing backend development to beginners, and I’ll be teaching them how to use MongoDB Atlas for building and connecting databases in a full-stack web project.

I’d love to know if MongoDB would be open to supporting or spotlighting this effort — whether that’s via educational resources, Atlas credits, stickers, or even a quick shoutout.

The goal is to help beginners understand real-world database use by walking them through schema design, connecting with Node.js, and deploying with Atlas. I’d be happy to share more details about the event (it’s hosted on Luma).

Thanks a ton,

Shivani

Apologies for responding to this late, @Shivani_Sharma1. Congratulations on hosting a successful workshop!

MongoDB is a partner of Major League Hacking, the official student hackathon league. If your event is not already working with MLH, I recommend that you join the MLH Hackathon season via this link or reach out to league@mlh.io to start this process.

Also, students are eligible for $50 in MongoDB Atlas credits via the MongoDB Student Pack.

Do let me know if this is helpful and if you have any additional questions.
