Guidance needed on handling duplicate MongoDB University accounts from Google and GitHub logins.

Hello everyone,

I’m a student with access to the GitHub Student Developer Pack and I’m planning to pursue MongoDB certifications. I ran into some confusion with account creation and would really appreciate guidance from the community or MongoDB team.

Here’s my situation:

  • My GitHub account has my personal email as the primary email and my university email as a secondary email.

  • When I first logged into MongoDB University, I used “Login with Google” and signed in using my personal Gmail, which seems to have created one MongoDB University account.

  • Later, when I tried to activate benefits via the GitHub Student Developer Pack, I logged in using “Login with GitHub”, and that appears to have created a second MongoDB University account, this time associated with my university email.

My concern is that I want all certifications and long-term learning records tied to my personal email, so I don’t lose access after graduating or losing my university email.

I’d like advice on the best and officially recommended approach:

  • Is it possible to merge these two MongoDB University accounts?

  • If not, should I delete one account and continue with the other?

  • Which account should I ideally keep to ensure certifications remain accessible long-term, while still benefiting from the GitHub Student Developer Pack?

I haven’t started any certifications yet, so I want to fix this the right way before proceeding.

Thanks in advance for your help!
