Fresh Install of MongoDB - Not running out of the box?

I am working on starting a localized version of MongoDB. The OS install is less than 12 hours old, fully updated with all the patches, and I installed version 4.4.5, went to the folder, ran mongod, and this is what I get. I can’t figure out why the server starts then shuts down…

This is a virgin install, this should not be happening. Any help should be appreciated.

There’s no message in the log snippet you gave indicating it shutdown. Is that the complete log file?

Yup, that was everything.

did you check the event viewer? The logs show that the instance was up for a minute, began it’s normal storage engine checkpoint operation (which occurs every minute), and then was somehow killed abruptly. Everything looks normal up to that point.
