Facing Issues while migrating from Mongo 7 to 8 , DB service stopped after Restoring database

We are facing some issue when we are restoring the DB from Mongo version 7 to 8, after restoring the DB service is automatically down and it creates dump file. What can be the solution of the above issue

  1. How are you restoring? mongorestore or file copy?
  2. What do you see in the error log file?
  3. May be issue due to Feature Compatibility Version (FCV)?
  4. Why not perform in-place upgrade?
