Database I am connected to by default is not visible on portal and in the list of databases

Hi all,
I am new to MongoDB and learning. I connected to Mongo through PS (mongosh). The database I am connected to ‘myFirstDatabase’ is not in the portal or in the list of databases that I pull up in the portal or in the shell.
What would the shell connect me to the database that does not exist?

I figured it out. The reason it wasn’t showing was because I did not create a collection under that database. Once I did that, it showed.
