CRUD for array data

Hello. I have data stored in a mongodb document as below:

{
    "_id": "64482f0adad6e42a7b490168",
    "Phoebe": [
      [
        "Rachel",
        "PAX0",
        "FRE2"
      ],
      [
        "Ross",
        "PAX1",
        "FRE1"
      ]
    ]
}

This indicates Phoebe is the person of interest, and Rachel and Ross are her friends with some data for them stored in their respective arrays.
This is basically arrays within arrays within a dictionary.

Im stuck trying to do basic CRUD on this.

For example, Id like to retrieve only the data at index 0 of the outermost array, which in the example above, would be the data for Rachel.

Im using projection but i get error messages. Ive tried using dot notation and specifying the index position (Phoebe.0). Ive tried to use the $ parameter instead of specifying the location (Phoebe.$). I also tried using an aggregate query but this runs the query against every document in the collection, which is just senseless in this context.

db.CName.find(
{‘Phoebe’:{‘$exists’:True}},{‘Phoebe.0’:1}
)

db.CName.find(
{‘Phoebe’:{‘$exists’:True}},{‘Phoebe.$’:‘Rachel’}
)

db.CName.aggregate(
[
{ “$project”: { “matched”: { “$arrayElemAt”: [ “$Phoebe”, 0 ] } } }
]
)

Any help, guidance would be much appreciated!

Using values as field names is not a good idea. See
