Connection number is inaccurate

When I connect to my Cluster with 1 instance of compass it will go from 0 connections to between ~20-30 connections with compass being the only thing connected. Is there anything that could cause it to show more than one connection?

(I am using Atlas enterprise on version 4.4.10 in ASW N. Virginia and the cluster is M0 Sandbox. No realm or charts are being used)
