Can't start mongodb-community

Hi,

Something has gone wrong with my mongodb installation after upgrading OSX from 12.5 to 12.6 Monterey and I can’t now connect to the server. I haven’t manually changed anything myself.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing with Homebrew, without success.

When I run brew services I get the following:

I have seen this line from the logs:

So I have changed the permissions on the socket file, but nothing changes wrt to starting mongo.

Hi @Paul_Hollyer, and welcome to the MongoDB Community forums!

After you changed the permissions on the file and tried to restart the mongod process, what do you see in the log files? MongoDB is pretty good about logging issues during startup.

I’ve removed the old data directory, and created a new empty one, and the server starts up now.
