RE: MongoDB Community Server version 7.0.1 (Platform: RedHat / CentOS 8.0 x64)

I’m attempting to deploy a shared cluster using the documentation provided here.

The command mongod --configsvr --replSet rs1 --dbpath /s/node-61/c/nobackup/db --bind_ip node-61 results in the following output.

Can’t find out any root cause from the above output. It could be more helpful to troubleshoot if you paste the configuration files (config replica set, shards) here.

I followed the steps in this doc

Platform: Debian bulleye x86/64

  1. Installing MongoDB community v7.0.3
  2. run mongod --configsvr --replSet conftest

I think some important parameters are missing for the instance to be started, such as dbpath, logpath, bindip etc…

Yes, it seems that it was because some parameters are missing. I changed to start mongod with config file and worked.

after creating two replica set e.g 2717, 2718
do these things on terminal
• After that open a new command prompt and run the primary
node,
→ mongosh --port 2717
After that do
→ rs.status()
It will say not yet configured(see the video for reference) then,
→ rs.initiate() ,then
→ rs.add(“localhost:2718”)
this will do the configuration, you can check it by using
rs.status()
• Now run this connection string in MongoDb comapass to connect
to the cluster -
mongodb://localhost:2717,localhost:2718/backend?replicaSe
