My M10 cluster auto scaled the disk space and has been unavailable for 90 minutes now. What is the expected down time for events like this?
The atlas cluster came back online 2.5 hours later. I’ve disabled auto-scaling disk space because it causes unacceptable downtime.
I traced the increased disk usage that triggered this event to the continuous backups being overwhelmed by database updates.
I’d like to hear others’ experience with autoscaling disk space. I cannot see how this is a useful feature as it is now.
My name is Lori and I’m a product manager at MongoDB on the Atlas team. Thanks for raising this issue - 2.5 hour downtime due to autoscaling is completely unacceptable and we’re sorry you had this experience.
If you’re able, could you please send me an email with your organization ID so I can further investigate what happened here? My email is email@example.com.
