How to get involved

The MongoDB World Hackathon is a 10 week long competition for the world's hackers, designers, and makers. So get ready to team up, learn about new technology, and bring your ideas to life.

The top 3 teams will be flown out to New York City for MongoDB's annual conference, MongoDB World. They will present their projects during the keynote presentation. The 1st place team will be chosen and will win the grand prize of $10,000.

The MongoDB World Hackathon is a great opportunity to gain experience with new technologies and learn new skills. Connect with other hackers around the world, find teams, and learn from each other. To help you get up to speed with MongoDB and other technologies, we will have regular tutorials and livestreams on a variety of topics.

The Hackathon entry deadline has passed. Finalists will be announced soon, and the top 3 teams will be decided by an audience vote in the keynote at MongoDB World.

Register for the hackathon on Devpost any time until the hackathon ends. You do not need a team to register.

Prepare your final submission to Devpost. You can explain your project in writing, including screenshots, links, and videos.

Finalists present their projects during the MongoDB World keynote. 1st place is announced at MongoDB World and wins $10,000.

Is there a code of conduct?

Yes, participants of the hackathon must follow the MongoDB Code of Conduct.

How many people per team?

Teams can have 1 - 4 members.

Who can participate?

In general, anybody can participate as long as they are the age of majority where they reside. However residents of some countries are not eligible. Please read the rules to ensure you meet all the eligibility requirements.

Does my project have to be a viable business?

No, hacking is about having fun making cool tech. It doesn't matter if your project is totally useless as long as it's interesting.

Who owns my project?

You do. Participating in this hackathon will not transfer any ownership to MongoDB.
