In this session, we'll discuss the different strategies to backing up and restoring your MongoDB clusters in case of a disaster scenario. We'll review the benefits and drawbacks of various approaches, including taking filesystem snapshots, using mongodump, or using MongoDB Management Service.
Andrew Erlichson: About the speaker
Andrew is VP of Education and Cloud Services at MongoDB. Prior to MongoDB, Andrew was CEO and Founder of Phanfare (acquired by Carbonite), an online photo hosting company. Earlier, he was Founder and CEO of Flashbase (acquired by DoubleClick), a web service that offered self-service online database forms and analysis tools. At DoubleClick (acquired by Google), Andrew was Vice President of Technology in the Research and Development group. He has worked at MIPS Computer Systems, Silicon Graphics and BlackRock. Andrew has an A.B. from Dartmouth College and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
