MongoDB Hires Former Dell Executive Steve Su to Lead Rapid Expansion into Greater China

NEW YORK, NY and PALO ALTO, CA – January 25, 2016 – MongoDB, the database for giant ideas, today announced the appointment of Steve Su as Area Vice President of the Greater China region, including mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Formerly a country manager for Dell in Greater China, Mr. Su’s responsibilities will include building a high performance sales team and a broad network of channel partners across the region. He is based in China.

Mr. Su has more than 22 years of experience across several markets in the APAC region, including China, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. He has a proven track record of building and managing successful software businesses from the ground up.

Adoption of Big Data and analytics in the Greater China region is accelerating faster than ever before, with the market in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) expected to reach $3.5B in 2018 according to IDC estimates for Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan), or APEJ.

Prior to his leadership role at Dell, Su has built and led successful sales organizations in China for BMC Software, HP/Opsware and Parametric Technology Corporation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and heat transfer from the National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan.
