10gen Named a "Cool Vendor" by Leading Analyst Firm

PALO ALTO, CA - 10gen, the company behind MongoDB, today announced its inclusion in the list of "Cool Vendors" in the Cool Vendors in Information Infrastructure and Big Data, 2012 report published by Gartner, Inc. Each year, Gartner identifies new Cool Vendors in key technology areas and issues a series of research reports evaluating these innovative vendors and their products and services.

"We are thrilled to be recognized by Gartner as a cool vendor," said Max Schireson, president of 10gen. "MongoDB combines scalability, performance and ease of use, with traditional relational database features such as dynamic queries and indexes. We consider our inclusion in the Cool Vendor report by Gartner confirmation of our mission to provide cutting edge NoSQL database technology to customers developing innovative large-scale applications and performing real-time 'big data' analytics."

Emerging vendors in information infrastructure are tackling various aspects of "big data." Information managers and architects should consider the need for such vendors and technologies to complement their main information management technology investments.
