Walking Down the Path to Microservice Nirvana with MongoDB

PublishedJune 10, 2020

When rearchitecting a RDBMS-based monolithic application to a microservices architecture, relational technical debt often becomes a roadblock. For example, stored procedures handling communication among application components, application and application components communicating via tables, overgrown relational schemas, etc. The migration to microservices necessitates the elimination of this technical debt while simultaneously providing the opportunity to migrate to MongoDB. The resulting MongoDB-based microservices provide a 2-5X advantage in developer productivity on top of a scalable and resilient architecture that is container/cloud ready.
