Every product team faces the challenge of managing stakeholders throughout the delivery cycle - from receiving their buy-in before execution to managing their expectations as the project makes progress and ultimately, measuring their satisfaction with the outcome of the project. The stakeholders can be of myriad types ranging from sponsors, customers to downstream systems that use the API you are making changes to. It is important to engage, "not manage", these stakeholders every step of the way to leverage your shared understanding of the product. In this talk, I focus on the importance of building a culture that allows you to maintain an open and transparent dialogue with your stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of a project. By assessing your organization's needs for stakeholder engagement, you can build communication structures that help you build better products everyday.
