Recap: Mongo Seattle 2011

MongoSeattle got the Bell Harbor International Conference Center humming, with over 300 MongoDB enthusiasts in attendance for a three-track agenda. Amazon Web Services, MongoHQ, and MongoLab co-sponsored the event, ensuring that every attendee had the chance to walk out with new ideas and an armload of swag.

10gen sent Nosh Petigara, Spencer Brody, Chris Westin, Dan Pasette, Paul Pederson, and Scott Hernandez to present on MongoDB, followed by a closing keynote speech from President Max Schireson.

Guest speakers included Justin Jenkins (LearnMongo), Damon Cortesi (Simply Measured), Eric Redmond (MongoHQ), Grant Goodale (WordSquared), Josh Long (VMWare), Rick Copeland (Geek.net), Todd Dampier (MongoLab), Jacques Crocker (OrderSM), and Ian Mercer (SignSwift).

Attendees drove in from as far away as Portland and Vancouver to join the MongoSeattle crowd, while Seattle-based startup Substantial sent a team of top-grade developers from their walking-distance loft office.
