MongoDB Community Awards Grand Prize Announcement

Last week, we kicked off our MongoDB Community Awards program with a call for peer nominations from the MongoDB user community. You can still nominate a community member for one of our three award categoriesâ€â€ùInnovative Application, Core Contributor, or Community Champion The 10gen team will pick three finalists in each category, and all the finalists (that's nine in total!) will be invited to attend MongoSV as our guests on December 9th.

From December 2 through December 7, we'll ask the MongoDB community to vote on their preferred candidate in each category. Finalists may encourage voting by sharing the link to our voting form, which goes live at noon on December 2. The grand prize in each category will go to the candidate who earns the most votes from his peers during this period. The grand prize, for each category, is a trip to SXSW Interactive, March 10-14 in Austin, Texas.

Held annually, typically in March, South by Southwest (SXSW) is a two-week conference for creative and innovative people, projects, and companies. The Interactive portion of the conference brings together entrepreneurs, developers, venture capitalists, and technology enthusiasts for four days.

As an open-source project, MongoDB depends on the work of community members and developers around the world. We'll announce the grand prize winners as MongoSV draws to a close on the evening of December 9, but we'll again depend on the always-supportive community to help us find the three community members who have done the most to expand, connect, and promote the MongoDB user base.

There's still a week left to nominate a friend, coworker, or speaker who you think has contributed to the project's success to dateâ€â€ùwe'll even send you a MongoDB t-shirt for your trouble. And of course, check back on December 2nd after 12pm EST to cast your vote for category finalists.
